If something is truly meant for you, it will never pass you by. I hear this phrase so often, yet it was not until recently that I sat down and thought about the weight behind these few words. What a powerful saying this is! The truth is that this is one of those sayings where it is easier to listen to it be said than it is to actually apply it to your life. Especially when we are in a waiting season. A season where everything around us seems so far from the place we want to be. Right now I am twenty-four years old just waiting for the perfect job, the perfect home, and the perfect relationships. While perfection does not exist in this world, I have my own ideas of what these things look like when I get “there”. As a little girl I always thought that by this age I would have it all right and within arms reach. But I am not even close to the peaks of my dreams yet. Let’s apply this to your life. I am sure you have dreams of what “there” looks like for you, too. I believe that it is natural to fall in love with the future version of our lives, and to never feel settled until that future becomes a reality. So I want to take a moment to ask–what does this perfectly painted picture of “one day” look like for you? I am confident that the vision you have for your future is beautiful, and I pray that it is everything you dream of it to be. But for right now I want to remind you of one thing. The journey is just as beautiful as the destination. It is easy as humans to want to control every variable of our lives. Yet, when we forget that the timeline of things is out of our control we begin asking ourselves why am I not there yet? When is it going to be the right time? But can I invite you to a new perspective during these waiting seasons? You are meant to be right here, right now. Let go of the anxious thoughts surrounded by the idea of not being “there” yet. Because I can promise you that if you are meant to have a husband at 25, then you will meet the man of your dreams at 23. If you are meant to own a house at the age of 41, then it will be certain that your offer gets accepted for that house. But if these perfectly painted pictures were not meant for us then rest assured that where you are right now, is meant for you. Because, this too, did not pass you by.
